Research Themes

The work of SERG revolves around three main themes:

  1. Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning/Ecosystem services relationships of aquatic and coastal habitats
  2. Effect of climate change on benthic sediment communities and their ecology
  3. Bio-sedimentology: The investigation of the biological mediation of sediment dynamics and its role in ecosystem engineering

SERG also support a number of emerging areas, stand-alone projects and collaborations not directly related to these themes.
